Best Time of Year to Clean Windows in Murrieta and Temecula
Written by Blue Ribbon Window Cleaning · Last updated May 14, 2026
Late spring (after pollen drops) and early fall (before winter rain) are the two best windows. We work year-round though — winter is great for hard water restoration and screen repair.
Why timing matters here
The Temecula Valley has a real pollen season in spring and a real wind/dust season in late summer. Cleaning right before either season ends means the result lasts a long time. Cleaning right in the middle of pollen peak means you'll see new film within a couple of weeks.
Best months by goal
- Longest-lasting full clean: late May or early October.
- Pre-holiday clean (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's): mid-November.
- Pre-listing or photo day: any time, but try to schedule the day before photos.
- Hard water restoration: winter months when our schedule is lighter.
- Screen rescreen: anytime — fastest in winter and early spring.
What about cleaning in winter?
Winter is a great time to catch up on the work that gets pushed back during peak season — tracks, sills, screen repair, hard water restoration, and the inside of the home. Pure rain doesn't 'spot' clean glass; it's the dust splashed up by rain that does.

Frequently asked questions
› Should I wait until after the rainy season?
Not necessarily. A few rain events between cleanings is fine. Long delays just give pollen and minerals more time to bond.
› Is it cheaper in the off-season?
Pricing stays consistent year-round. Off-season just means easier scheduling.
› When do you stop scheduling outdoor work?
We work in light rain but reschedule heavy rain days at no charge.
