Do You Need to Be Home for Window Cleaning?
Written by Blue Ribbon Window Cleaning · Last updated May 14, 2026
For exterior-only service, no — most of our exterior cleans happen with the homeowner away. For interior + exterior, someone needs to let us in (or we can use a code/key/lockbox you trust).
Exterior-only: easy hands-off appointment
We just need access to side gates and outdoor hose bibs. Many of our recurring exterior-only customers are at work when we visit. Payment can be handled by card on file.
Interior + exterior: someone home is easier
For inside work we need someone present to let us in, point out the priority windows, and walk through at the end. If you can't be there, we can work with a trusted neighbor, lockbox code, or smart-lock access — whatever you prefer.
Pets, kids, and noise
Window cleaning is quiet — no loud machinery for indoor work. Pets that don't love strangers do best in a closed room or a fenced section of yard during the visit.

Yes — many customers do. We treat keys and codes with care.
